December 1-2-3, 2023


Are you a MGMS Member?

The club needs help at the Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show in December. There's all sorts of ways club members can help... set up on the Thursday before, working security, helping with the door prizes, all the way to helping tear down on Sunday night. What's in it for you? How does free parking and admission to the show sound? This is a great event that brings in money for our scholarship programs and basic club expenses. Come help out. 


 

  • Montgomery Gem and Mineral Society's 53rd Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Annual Show
  • Alabama National Fairgrounds (Garret Coliseum) 1555 Federal Drive Montgomery, AL 36107
  • Hours: 9 am to 6 pm Friday and Saturday; 11 am to 4 pm Sunday
  • Admission is $2.00 per day. Children under 16 are FREE with student ID or one paid adult ticket.
  • $2.00 Wheel of Fortune - Guaranteed to win!
  • Free parking.
  • Free door prize ticket only with each paid adult admission.
  • A Food Truck will be present all 3 days with good eclectic food, snacks, and drinks.

We'll have 33 dealers selling everything from amethyst cathedrals to Zebra rock, rocks and minerals inexpensive to moderately priced. You will find gems, crystals, faceted, cabs, rough, and set in jewelry, geodes, decorator items, and jewelry, books and supplies, beads, rough, cabochons, gem stones, finished jewelry, tools, mineral and fossil specimens, and lots more. We'll have a mineral ID table, demonstration table with cabbing machines, and more. We will have displays, most of them educational, all of them interesting that YOU get to vote on! Displays provided by club members. Club members will display their individual collections and will give demonstrations on gem and rock cutting, faceting, and cabochon making.

We will be glad to get in touch with you and get you signed up and registered for this years show. We will send out all contracts on March 26th and must have them returned to us by June 1st. All contracts received after June 1st will be assessed a late fee plus you may lose availability of a booth. Please don't wait until the last moment to register as we will fill up the Coliseum rather quickly every year.

Fine handcrafted jewelry. Metal types are primarily sterling silver, copper and mixed metal. Variety of top gemstones including labradorite, larimar, blue topaz, turquoise, etc. Styles include necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and watches.  Styles range in size from 1 karat to oversize 40 karat depending on style and metal type.

Baron Jewelry:   

Colombian emeralds, jewelry with emeralds and sterling silver jewelry.

Boxed Rocks:    Minerals, polished stones, and fluorescent minerals.

Creek View Mineral:    Mineral specimens, geodes, fossils, petrified wood, cabochons, slabs, fluorescents, uv flashlights and grab bags.

Custom Creations:    Carvings, beads, cabochons, and jewelry.

Dreaming Down Under:    Australian Boulder and Black opal dealer with rough, finished and jewelry. Cut opals from the 12 regions of Australia. There will be rough, free form, cabs, and all different shapes; some will include holes for stringing beads and setting stones. We have a large assortment of gems already set in both gold and silver and also have equipment on site to accommodate the client’s needs if they want the stone changed. Australian Crocodile and Kangaroo leather products.

Dwarven Stonecraft and Lapidary:    Carved rocks, fossils, cabs, jewelry, crystals, rough rocks and slabs.

Eddie's Rocks:   Fossils, minerals, artifacts, jewelry, and decorator items.

Finding Hidden Treasures:   Sterling silver jewelry containing a variety of precious and semi-precious gemstones.

We source rocks from all over the world. Most of the rocks are used as candles and we also use some of the same pieces in epoxy art and craft tree art.

Fine minerals and fossils, polished shapes and carvings, tumbled stones, and crystals.

RH Gems & Jewelry:    We will display handmade jewelry, rough stones, slabs, cabochons, minerals and polished goods. We have Knobcone jewelry and epoxy resin merchandise.

Royal Expressions:    Gemstone beads, pendants, jade finished jewelry.

Splendid Elements:    Splendid Elements - New name, same great offerings. We will have thousands of mineral specimens from the US and worldwide in all price ranges of interest to both the novice and serious collector. Specimens range in size from thumbnail/perky up to near basketball size cabinet specimens. Always something to delight the real mineral collector.

Stone Crystals:    Meteorites, geodes and geode cracking, minerals, jewelry, decorator items and polished rocks.

The Brewer's Alley:    We have everything between 2-for-$1 tumbled stones to exceptional, rare, high-end collectible pieces, fluorite from all over the world and everything in between.
